Medicare "rebate" phone scam doing the rounds
Australians are receiving calls from people claiming to be from Medicare, saying they are owed a "rebate". The caller asks for bank details. Medicare will never call you to offer a rebate or ask for your bank details.
Golden Rule: If someone calls you asking for money or bank details — hang up immediately and call the organisation back on their official number.
